Phase 1b/2a Trial Results in Survival for One Patient

Immix BioPharma focuses on finding effective treatments for a number of diseases. In 2020, Immix BioPharma’s IMX-110 Phase 1 trial resulted in one patient with stage 4 leiomyosarcoma reaching six months of progression-free survival. The IMX-110 study assessed a combination therapy designed to slow metastasis while inducing cancer cell death (apoptosis).

At the time of the report, the trial resulted in a 100-percent clinical benefit rate (disease stability) at the two-month point in six patients, including the patient who had been stable for six months. This was a major development because six months of progression-free survival is believed to be a significant response time and clinical benefit. 

IMX-110 - Cancer Drug Components and Design

A lawyer and graduate of Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, Ben Lyon serves as a vice president at Immix Biopharma. Also, as chief legal officer, attorney Ben Lyon handles executive-level responsibilities at Immix.

Recently, Immix Biopharma - an international privately-held cancer research biopharmaceutical firm - developed IMX-110. A first-in-class combination therapy, IMX-110 is a cancer resistance inhibitor. However, rather than directly kill cancer cells (and cause collateral damage to healthy normal cells) Immix's combination reactivates programmed cell death (apoptosis) that naturally occurs in cancer cells, which leads to their death. IMX-110 has demonstrated pre-clinical efficacy for various cancers - including triple-negative breast, ovarian, colorectal, pancreatic tumor, and multiple myeloma and more recently for various forms of sarcoma.

A combination of NF-kB/Stat3/pan-kinase inhibitor curcumin and a trace amount of doxorubicin packed in a nano-sized delivery system allows the drug to carry out optimal tumor penetration. IMX-110 binds well with specific target molecules and delivers a sufficient concentration of active chemicals to target key areas in cells. Compared to doxorubicin alone, IMX-110 is five times as efficient in inducing cancer cell apoptosis.

Calumino’s Eve - A Specialized IoT System for Home Care Centers

In case a resident falls, EveCare's quick notifications to caregivers ensures they provide timely assistance, ensuring that the person gets the care they need.

The Award-Winning Film Man from Reno

As both a San Francisco attorney and Los Angeles attorney, Ben Lyon, has enjoyed a successful career as a senior executive and general counsel. He has served as an adjunct/visiting professor and is a motivational speaker, visiting universities and lecturing on entrepreneurship and success. Man From Reno won the Best Picture Award - Narrative at the 2014 Los Angeles Film Festival and was a nominee at the Independent Spirit Awards for the coveted John Cassavetes Award, among other awards and nominations. The story begins with Paul Del Moral, the sheriff of a small town not far from San Francisco. One foggy night while out on patrol, he discovers an abandoned car, and after reporting it drives away, and is shocked by a man rebounding off his windshield.

He takes the unconscious Japanese man to the hospital, who disappears before an investigation can begin. In the next scene, Japanese mystery writer Aki Akahori suddenly takes a trip to San Francisco, escaping the press tour of her newest book in the Inspector Takabe series, which has attained worldwide fame. She has an affair with a Japanese man in San Francisco, who suddenly disappears. The story runs on a dual track of Del Moral and Akahori until the two meet, and then the plot really thickens.
